Fargo

Ciné-concert by Fragments

The arctic atomosphere of the movie and its frozen, barren landscapes echo back to Fragments’ music. But obviously, the band members were seduced by Coen brothers’ dry, dark, of-the-wall humor as well : this particular balance embodies perfectly the trio’s artistic sensivity.

Hyperactive singer/guitarist/machine operator in many projects since the 90s, notably Diabologum, Experience, and more recently the Franco-American band Binary Audio Misfits, a wide variety of albums, EPs, many appearances and most of all, an overflowing tour road book, full of dates in Europe and the USA. What defines him? A very particular way of using his voice, a sort of melodic spoken word, somewhere between song, slam and white hop hip. His lyrics (in French) have also been widely (...)

James Chance is a legend: the free form playing of Albert Ayler with the solid funk rythm of James Brown, though filtered through a punk rock lens.
It would have been easy to be fooled by James Chance in late ’70s New York, just looking at him. His greased pompadour, ski-jump nose, plus the lounge lizard attire he favored, gave him more than a passing resemblance to the movie brats of decades previous. But if you happened to see him onstage blowing his horn or getting in a fistfight with a (...)

In 2015, Virginie Despentes go on stage with the band ZÎro to give voice to the Requiem of the innocents of Louis Calaferte.
A mesmerizing stamp, a real "presence". The author of Vernon Subutex got to like these appearances and walked his "requiem"
in several rooms and festivals in France and abroad. It is at the moment to Pasolini whom she wished to give / to make the word.
She invited BÈatrice Dalle and, of course, the members of the group ZÎro.
Together, they revisit in music the (...)

WE INSIST! This band name rings in the ears of alternative rock music lovers as a long term project that began in the mid-nineties, and is still very active on both French and European scenes. After hundreds of concerts, extensive touring in Europe and 5 albums including the two most recent on the German label “Exile On Mainstream / Southern Records Distribution“, WE INSIST! has shared the stage with many different bands such as The EX, Qui, Unsane and 31 Knots. From the very the beginning (...)

Zëro

The first demo by Zëro - the reincarnation of Bästard!, a group which had its origins in the Deity Guns (initiators of the French post-rock movement ) - is already 10 years old and "San Francisco" is their 5th album.
A red album… just like there have been white albums or black albums. A major album in a discography, in the history of a group. The style is the same as can be recognized in all the records but the total break with the past is fascinating. As is the image of the cover which shows (...)

Totorro and Friends

Game-concert Another World

When two of the musicians of the band Totorro invite two friiends to pay tribute and especially put their musical and sound look on the video game world. Not a movies-concert but a "game-concert", around the precursory game Another World, who marked a whole generation.
" We chose the game " Another World ", release in 1991, which knew how to mark its period by its graphics and sound system with game. We find a sce’nario of science fiction there which approaches strong themes like (...)

Les Mondes Futurs

NeirdA & Z3ro feat. Stephen Besse

THINGS TO COME is, at first, a novel written by H.G. Wells, great british author and pioneer of the Science-Fiction (The War of the Worlds, The Time Machine, The Invisible Man...). Must-see rare Masterpiece, THINGS TO COME is also an anticipation movie of a troubling relevance, a prophetic vision of our time and of our relation to the technological progress, and an anti-war pamphlet.
NEIRDA & Z3RO french duet (Movie-concert THE PRISONNER, Live-Cinema DÉJÀ-VU), featuring on keyboards, (...)
